TechSpedite Accelerated Entry Level Technician Program

Pro-MECH's Entry Level Technician Program is a four-week intensive training program that teaches technicians with very limited skills or brand new entrants into the heavy-duty maintenance field the core skills they will need in order to contribute to maintenance operations on the first day of their employment. This is a highly-focused program that teaches a very specific subset of skills. Key areas of focus center around basic equipment maintenance, DOT inspection as well as preventive maintenance inspections and follow up service. The program allocates a significant amount of time dedicated to hands-on, shop based lab work to ensure the concepts students are being taught in the classroom can be executed on the shop floor.

Shop Safety:
Proper use of tooling, proper PPE, and along with ergonomic conditions is incorporated into each segment to reduce workman compensation claims and the safety of the potential employee

Brakes (Drum and Disk): Have the general knowledge to replace lining, inspect for s-cam and s-cam bushing free-play and inspect drums and rotors

ABS: General knowledge of the functionality of the system, replace sensors, and conduct a blink code inspection

Hubs Brakes and Wheel-ends

Pro-MECH's axle-to-hub training program teaches essential skills needed for the maintenance and replacement of most major components surrounding truck and trailer chassis.

This training offers hands-on training and instruction on all tractor/trailer wheel-end related components, both new and old. This is the only complete wheel-end training course of its kind; providing instructional material on Air Disc Brakes, S-cam Brakes, PreSet Hubs as well as Adjustable Hubs. This course also covers: Kingpins, Steering Systems, Automatic Brake Adjusters, ABS, Brake Chambers, Air and Leaf Suspensions, and Alignment. Pro-MECH teaches technicians how to diagnose potential problems before they become a DOT citation or a liability, as well as the latest regulations and new products.     Electrical Fundamentals

    The Electrical Fundamentals Program is a blended learning program that focuses on developing electrical skills and applying diagnostic processes required to service the vast majority of electrical issues taking trucks out of service. The Electrical Fundamentals program applies significant training and utilization of the digital multimeter as the key tool for electrical and electronic diagnostics. The focus of this program is learning how electricity works in the context of today's equipment and testing for volts, ohms and amps with digital multimeters. Technicians utilize Pro-MECH's custom built simulators to test vehicle systems and components and apply the lessons being taught by the Pro-MECH instructors. All the skills learned in this program have instant application to your maintenance facility and contribute to reducing fleet downtime or decreasing diagnostic time for your shop.

    Focus Areas: Digital multimeter, voltage drop, battery testing, drag testing, back probing, amp draw, charging/starting systems, parasitic draw, permanent and proper wire repair.

    Electronic Systems and Diagnostics

    The Electrical/Electronic Systems and Diagnostics Program is a blended learning program that builds upon the skills learned in Electrical Fundamentals and extends the application of electrical principles to duty cycle, frequency and pulse width modulation. As with the Electrical Fundamentals Program, Electrical Systems and Diagnostics makes significant use of the digital multimeter as the essential tool for advanced diagnostics. Technicians are exposed to two and three-wire sensors and other vehicle systems utilizing Pro-MECH's custom built training simulators. If taken in conjunction with the Electrical Foundations Program, each technician will have utilized all key functions of their digital multimeter and understand how and where to apply them.

    Focus Areas: Digital multimeter, cold start system training, relays, sensors and actuators, ECM and logical diagnostics using Pro-MECH designed simulators.

    Integrated Emissions Systems

    Pro-MECH's Integrated Emissions program is an advanced training program dedicated to diagnosing and maintaining contemporary emissions systems. At the completion of this course, technicians will have a deep understanding of "The Big 5" components of Tier 4 emissions systems (DOC, DPF, SCR, EGR, and DEF), how they function and how to diagnose issues with them. The program covers the importance of PID data, how to collect it, understand it and apply what it is telling you.

    Following the Pro-MECH Blended learning model, the operation and functions of the emissions systems components are covered via eLearning. The classroom portion of the training will focus on diagnostic processes and techniques on these systems.

    Advanced electrical and diagnostic skills are necessary for this program. Pro-MECH recommends that technicians have completed our Electrical Fundamentals and Electrical Systems and Diagnostics programs, in order to have a solid electrical background.

    Focus Areas: Digital multimeter, DOC, DPF, EGR, SCR, DEF, ECM connectivity, PID data analysis and pin-point testing.
